MOORESVILLE, N.C. (July 4, 2024) -- The streets of Chicago were indeed mean to Briar LaPradd and Kaden Honeycutt on Tuesday night, but the JR Motorsports duo rallied to earn respectable finishes in Tuesday night's eNASCAR Coca-Cola iRacing Series event at the virtual Chicago Street Course. Honeycutt wound up 16th at the finish, while LaPradd placed 31st. (Watch the full race.)

In the heat race to determine the starting field, both drivers started deep in the field, with LaPradd 35th and Honeycutt 38th. The opening lap of the 15-lap event saw some carnage, as Honeycutt avoided two wrecks to net out 21st at the end of the first circuit. LaPradd caught a piece of one of the wrecks but rallied to finish 19th.

As the main event got under way, Honeycutt started his No. 8 FilterTime Chevrolet from 16th and moved up 1o 13th at one point before a couple of costly mistakes dropped him five positions to 18th. Over the remaining laps, the Texan passed two rivals to finish 16th

LaPradd's No. 88 Ledford Billiard Supply Chevrolet started from 19th and he immediately dropped four spots on the opening lap back to 22nd. At lap 12, the Tennessee driver spun on the tight course and fell 10 positions back to 32nd. Once getting the car pointed the right direction, LaPradd was able to advance one position to 31st at the finish.

Road-course master Bobby Zalenski dominated the event, topping Parker White and Steven Wilson with Vicente Salas and Casey Kirwan the remainder of the top five.

In the team standings, the two-car JRM squad maintained its grip on eighth position, 155 behind the leaders. Honeycutt is eighth in driver points, 106 points off the lead, while LaPradd rests in 22nd, 190 markers behind.

The eNASCAR Coca-Cola iRacing Series will be back on its regular schedule with the next event set for July 16 at the virtual Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

Kaden Honeycutt, driver No. 8 FilterTime JR Motorsports Chevrolet team

"The street course is a handful, and you have to be pretty precise. We were good in the heat and for parts of the race, but it's just so hard to pass. I got to 13th there at one point and made one mistake and dropped a few positions, but we were able to get our FilterTime Chevrolet pointed back the right way and finished 16th."

Briar LaPradd, driver No. 88 Ledford Billiard Supply/Team Conti JR Motorsports Chevrolet team

"This Ledford Billiard Supply Chevrolet had some pace for a road course, but we tapped the wall on our qualifying lap and had to start the heat race way at the back. Thank goodness we missed that carnage on the opening lap and moved up about 11 positions. In the feature, there wasn't a lot of track temperature and we struggled with grip. This summer has been a struggle, luck-wise, and hopefully we can turn it around sooner rather than later."
